摘要
It is generally acknowledged that George Bernard Shaw is the most outstanding playwright after Shakespeare in the Brit-ish literary history and his works have always been considered as the main voice of the 20th century English theater. This thesis at-tempts to deeply analyze the difference of transformation between Eliza and her father Alfred from three perspectives of motivation, progress and result. Trough the comparison of their transformation the author aims to enrich the interpretations and understandingsof Shaw’s female characters, as well as to draw people’s attention to female issues which still exist in modern society.
