Cobalt ions were removed from aqueous solution by forward osmosis (FO). The effect of operation conditions on FO performance was determined. The separation mechanism at various conditions was discussed. FO membrane after Co(II) separation was characterized. FO might be an alternative technology for radioactive wastewater.
