For the stratigraphy6 of the late Paleozoics and the earlyt Mesozoics it has been difficult in other regions where terrestrial deposits are continuous, without being disturbed by crustal movement, such as the Karoo beds in South Africa^1, to demarcate the ages of the different zones.
