摘要

Based on the Continuous Beam-Column Theory of elastic stability. mechanical characteristics and performance ofGilligan BHA.which is a special assembly with two outside diameter sizing collars in a span between two stabilizersand is often applied in horizontal wells.are analyzed in detail and justified by practical data from oil fields. Further-more.design results of Gilligan BHA for three different well sizes were given and their corresponding values of limitingcurvature were calculated by means of software package developed basing on the above mentioned theoretical analysis.
