Tests of adding vitamin B12-producing bacteria were carried out for the culturing of the rotifer Brachinous plicatilis (Thailand S strain).Among 18 bacterial strains isolated from ro-tifer culture tank, one strain of Pseudomonas,TP4,a vitamin Bl2 producer, appeared a significant complementary effect on rotifer growth.C ultures with the strain TP4 addition showed that the rotifer density increased from 124—139 to 4,417—4,540 ind./m1 in 2 liter beakers and from 242—288 to 1,017—1,254 ind ./ml in 500 liter tanks ,and the in ereased rates were 4—6 and 2—3 times higher than that of the controls during the culture periods of 9 and 6 d ays, respectively.
