In this paper, fourth silt clay in Shanghai was remolded to carry out experiment of direct shear, namely consolidation quick shear and slow shear, the curves of shear stress and shear strength were analyzed in summary. The normalized curves of its shearing stress and shear displacement were also analyzed, and the normalization equation was obtained, the relations between shear strength and water content of the shearing failure were discussed.
