     Lithol based lithological ogical discrimination is the core issue of remote sensing geology. Remote sensing data identification could reduce much field work for geological mapping. It＇s important to I dentify some special lithologic units for relevant ore prospecting. In Huitongshan area of Beishan region ETM＋ data are processed with band ratio and principal component analysis and information of basic-ul- trabasic rock bodioes in Huitongshan area is highlighted and the discrimination result is basically coincided with the geological map. Eleven gabbro bodies which are not shown on the geological map are identified with remote sensing image features and they verified by field check. The validity of the methods is ap- proved.
