     The Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permian in the Yuanling region along the margins of the Xue- feng ancient land is characterized by limestones in- terbedded with conglomerates and sandstones, which can be divided into two formations from bot- tom to top as follows： Dabu Formation and Maping Formation. Abundant compound rugose corals are found in the lower middle part of Dabu Formation, which are identified as 7 genera with eleven species in total, namely the following： Arachnastraea kaipingensis （Grabau） Yoh, A. crassiseptata King, A. sp. , Antheria sp. , Ivanovia asteroides Zhang, I. yuanlingensis sp. nov., Lithostrotio- nella gorskyi Yu, L. planitabulate Yu, Orionas- traea yuanlingensis sp. nov. , Protoivanovia inter- media Yu and Protodurhamina kunlunensis Cai （fasciculate rugose coral）. In contrast, the solitary ones decline as 4 genera with 4 species, including Axolithophyllum cylindricum Wu and Zhao, Koninckophyllum minor Jing, Neokoninckophyl- lure sp. , Caninia sp.
