Hartley Transform for Reduction to the Pole

     As an integral transform similar to the Fourier transform,the Hartley transform is more efficient and economical than its progenitor.We attempt to use it in magnetic data processing based on the general properties of the Hartley transform.We present a practical method for reduction to the pole RTP in the Hartley domain.The RTP processing encounters problems in the low magnetic latitude have also been discussed,and a filtering operator modified by slightly increasing the inclination of the core field at low latitudes to suppress the north-south trending features is introduced in the algorithm.Theoretical modes are considered to clearly illustrate the effects of the reduction to the pole in the Hartley domain.Practical data processing demonstrates that RTP in the Hartley domain reduces magnetic anomalies to the pole is an effective algorithm.
