摘要

The western Bohai Sea is located on the conjunct zone of the middle and northern Huanghua Depression and Bozhong Depression in the Bohai Bay Basin. It contains several Cenozoic petroliferous sags, and therefore, this area has a lager hydrocarbon exploration potential. In this study, the tectonic evolution and its control on the hydrocarbon accumulation of the Cenozoic basin in western Bohai Sea are studied with large quantities of exploration data. The results show that, the structural framework was controlled by the three groups of fault systems, the E-W-trending,NW-trending and NE-trending faults; the E-W-trending and NW- trending faults controlled the Paleogene rifting, whereas during the Neogene, the NW-trending and NE-trending faults occurred intensive reactivation with a large component of sinistral-slip and dextral-slip movements, respectively; the study area underwent six evolutionary stages during Cenozoic, the initial rifting stage during Kongdian period, regional uplift and eroded stage during Sha4 period, widely and intensively rifting stage during Sha3 period, rift-depression transition stage during Sha2-Shal-Dongying period, the post-rift stage during Guangtao and lower Minghuazhen periods, the tectonic reactivation from upper Minghuazhen period to now; just because this multiple evolutionary process resulted that the hydrocarbon can accumulate in several layers in this area, besides, the intensive Neogene tectonic reactivation resulted more hydrocarbon occurring in the shallow level, and with a characteristic of distributing along the NW-trending and NE-trending faults.
