Strike-Slip Faults’ Characteristics and Their Petroleum Geological Significances in Lundong Slope Belt of North Tarim Uplift
详细信息
摘要

Strike-slip faults are the most important faulted structural types in Lundong Slope Belt. Based on the in- terpretation of the latest 3D seismic data, the characteristics, genesis and evolution of the faults in the study area are analyzed and studied, and furthermore their petroleum geological significances are explored. The results show that the strike-slip faults on the fault broken-out sections are characterized by abundant appearance, conjugation and en echelon structure; and moreover by very steep sections and flower structure in the vertical sections, at the same time, by the typical dolphin effect” and “ribbon effect”. Influenced by the compressive stress field resulted from the regional shear action, the strike-slip faults in the region were generated in the middle and late Hercynian movement, and moreover acted successively for quite a long time; the strike-slip faults possess an extremely signifi-cant impacts on the hydrocarbon migration, accumulation, preservation and re-distribution in the region in the forms of determining the tectonic styles of Cambrian-Ordovician strata in Lundong Slope Belt, improving the reser- voir preserving properties of Cambrian-Ordovician carbonate strata, increasing the karst development. In a word, the specialities of the faults influence the petroleum reservoir-formation and their distribution characteristics in the region.
