By analyzing the seismic section of the Kongdian salient and its surrounding areas, this paper cognizes the tectonic framework characteristics of the Kongdian salient and overlying strata and approaches the tectonic evolution history of the Kongdian salient. Combined with the morphological characteristics of the Kongdian salient and its tectonic framework characteristics, the authors preliminarily have an idea that the formation and evolution of the Kongdian salient are due to the extensional movement and the strike-slip movement of the Cangdong fault and the Xuxi fault, and also, have a certain relationship with the occurrence of the main fault (Cangdong fault).
