Based on the thoughts of integrated exploration of petroleum and potassium resources, we take the brine reservoir as a special fluid-bearing sedimentary reservoir and use the mature technologies of petroleum exploration, e.g. seismic reservoir characterization and fluid identification approaches, to interpret comprehensively the geophysical data and predict typical brine-bearing reservoir in Sichuan basin. The seismic response features of potassium-rich brine reservoirs have been primarily understood and the seismic data-based prediction model built. And the approaches have been applied to the practice with good results.
