摘要
Emission of greenhouse gas COB>2 have given the powerful impact on the global climate as environment as well, which has got the great attention of the countries all over the world. Mitigation of CO2 emission to the atmosphere is extremely important for the sustainable development. CO2 geological storage is one of the effective methods to mitigate such emission. This paper summarizes the present and future prospects of the CO2 geological storage in the foreign countries through the following respects：1） CO2 trapping mechanism, 2） CO2 geological storage, 3） current situation and future of the storage projects, 4） capacity estimation of the storage sites, 5） monitoring techniques, 6） simulation tools; and 7） cost of the storage.
