///Selecting waveforms recorded by 27 stations and using backprojection of teleseismic P-waves method, the authors study the source rupture process of the Lijiang M7.0 earthquake in 1996. The results show that the energy of source rupture of Lijiang M7.0 earthquake mainly releases along northwestward eastern Piedmont fault of Yulong Snow Mountains. The total rupture time is about 30 s, and the rupture length is about 40 km. This method can obtain the source rupture process in short time after the earthquake occurred, it can be an important addition to earthquake rapid report and provides basis for the earthquake rapid response and rescue.
