The gold placers in Henan Province are widely distributed in tributaries of the Yellow and Yangtze rivers. The Siwan gold placer in Yichuan County and the Gaoduchuan gold placer in Songxian County are the two representatives belonging to channel-floodplain type and terrace type, respectively. Distribution of the gold placers is coincided with that of Holocence strata and they occur as sub-parallel zones along modern rivers. The intersections of rivers, the gentle slopes of the river terrace and the inner curves of rivers are the prospecting targets.
