This paper mainly introduces the formation mechanism and the failure mechanism of barrier dam formed by landslides, collapses, debris flows, and clastic flows. At the same time, the authors evaluate the stability analysis of the barrier dam, which includes three aspects: seepage stability, anti-sliding stability and anti-erosion stability. This study provides guidance for the prevention and management of barrier lakes.
