By comprehensive using the data of the well logging, mud logging and seismic results, third-order sequences are divided in the Upper Cretaceous strata of Lake Chad Basin in African Chad. On the basis of the above, the sedimentary facieses and their characteristics of the system tracts within the sequences are researched in detail. The strata are classified into 2 formation groups that are correspondent to 3 third-order sequences and 6 system tracts. But only the lower sequence I is comparatively well-developed. The sources of the sediments are from the eastern, southern and western parts of the ancient uplifts.
