摘要
The authors studied the characteristics of the bentonite deposit in Jiashan, Jurong City of Jiangsu Province, and found the overlying layer was alkali-rhyolite in Lower Cretaceous series, the ores presented various colors and partially remained breccias structure or residue lumps and faulted breccias resulted by fault slide could be observed. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the mineral composition varied with colors. Scanning electronic microscope presented the weathered phenomenon and primary and secondary minerals in the ores and volcanic rocks. It was concluded that the deposit belonged to weathered residual bentonite deposit.
