Research and Application of Two-Dimensional High Density Resistivity Tomography

Resistivity tomography (RT) is a technique determining the resistivity distribution within the studied area based on the measurements of potential and current values on the boundaries. It is essentially different from the acoustic and electromagnetic tomography. In this paper, at first, the finite element used most commonly in RT is discussed and the simulated annealing of RT inversion method, and then we discussed simulated annealing algorithm and its application to resistivity interpretation. The simulated annealing method is applied to 2-D resistivity inversion. The instance of resistivity tomography is given. It is indicated that the resolution of resistivity tomography is higher than that of traditional method.
