英国文学中人道主义论的解析——以狄更斯的《双城记》为例

摘要
《双城记》是英国现实主义作家狄更斯的代表作品,其以英国社会和法国革命为交叉主线,映射出十九世纪的英国社会现状。《双城记》以卡尔登为代表的"怪诞英雄",因其怪异的性格及自我牺牲的大爱,成为怪诞英雄主义的代表和后世各类怪人英雄作品的借鉴参考。探究"怪诞英雄",是全面解析狄更斯作品中人道主义的关键。通过对卡尔登的人物经历刻画、情感行为塑造的过程中,能够透析出怪诞英雄的人物特征,及狄更斯式的人道主义思想。因此,以怪诞英雄人物为切入点,对《双城记》中的人本主义和人道思想进行解析。
A Tale of Two Cities is a representative work of the British realistic writer Dickens.It takes the British society and the French revolution as the main line to reflect the British social situation in the 19 th century.Featuring weird characters and great self-sacrifice love, "Weird hero",represented by Sydney Carton in A Tale of Two Cities,has become a symbol of the weird heroism,as well as reference for all kinds of later works concerning eccentric heroes therein.Exploring the "weird hero" is the key to comprehensively analyze the humanitarianism in Dickens' works.Through the characterization of Carton's character and experience plus the shaping of his emotions and behaviors,we can figure out the characteristics of weird heroes and Dickensian humanitarian thoughts.Therefore,this paper analyzes humanism and humanitarianism in A Tale of Two Cities from the perspective of weird heroes.
