基于塑料光纤(POF)技术的点对点通信系统的设计与实现

摘要
POF在实际应用中有着广泛前景,势必成为下一代宽带接入网的主要传输媒质。因此,对基于POF技术的通信系统及其相关的一系列问题的研究,很有必要。
     本文提出一种基于塑料光缆技术的点对点通信系统的设计和实现方案。整个系统包括五大模块:时钟模块、数据源模块、CMI编码模块、光纤传输模块和CMI解码模块,其中光纤传输模块是系统的核心,其性能直接决定着系统的性能。进一步讨论了POF通信系统中OCDMA光编码/解码器和塑料光纤收发器的设计问题。
     本系统设计的通信电路能够很好地完成此转换过程,准确快速地传输信号。系统的软件仿真和硬件仿真实验结果都与期望相符合。制作完成的系统的PCB电路板将不同的模块集成到一块电路板中,满足设计要求。
Optical fiber is compared to the arteries of information transmission in“information society”by the scientific community. The major developed countries all have placed the development of optical fiber communications as a key of national policies. Among optical fiber, plastic optical fiber's diameter is usually between 0.3-3mm. With the large diameter, the connection is easier and the efficiency of optical coupling is higher. So large-core plastic optical fiber can be manufactured. At the same time, the plastic optical fiber (POF) has excellent softness, bending resistance, shock resistance and radiation resistance. The price was cheap. Its connection and construction is convenient. POF can be a substitute for the traditional quartz fiber and copper cables. All of these advantages help to sharply lower the cost of optical fiber communication system. So POF is very suited to be applied in the LAN with more nodes, for example, the communication system of medical equipment, industrial control systems, optical fiber sensors, automotive network, military affairs, airplane and aircraft carrier.
     The research and development of POF materials and network equipment will provide better solutions to the connection of the higher rate network. Currently, many companies and the Association for Standardization have joined the rank, devoting a lot of manpower and material resources. As an alternative to copper wire and optical fiber products, its application has been supported by various technical standards, such as Ethernet, 1394, ATM all have developed related POF technical standards. It can be predicted that with the unique technical features, POF technology will have even broader prospects in the integrated wiring, LAN and multimedia applications, and will become the main transmission medium of next generation broadband access network. Therefore, the research of related problems about the communication system based on POF technology is significant. The experimental system is proposed for this purpose.
     Based on substantive literature, the author went along deep studies about POF communications system through the computer simulation and actual circuit testing. The main results are as follows.
