摘要
本文旨在分析作为奥康纳创作灵感源泉的教会传统。天主教教义中最为突出的就是圣事和恩典,圣事是传达上帝恩典的印记和符号。托马斯主义关于自然和恩典的思想既是奥康纳小说创作的母题又是奥康纳的艺术手法。按照奥康纳的理解,小说就是道成肉身的艺术。本文还以短篇小说《帕克的后背》为例说明了自然和恩典相统一的天主教思想以及与之相对立的二元思想在不同的人物塑造上的体现。
In her literary creation,Flannery O' Connor has drawn upon the Catholic Church as her sources of inspiration,among them,the doctrines of sacraments and grace in particular.Sacraments are signs which will lead to grace.The Thomist theology of nature and grace and the doctrines of sacraments have become O ' Connor's matrix and artistry because in O 'Connor's view fiction is an incarnational art.Parker's Back exemplifies the Catholic dogma of nature and grace in both themes and characterization.
