科技术语音译汉字选择

摘要
选择合适的汉字对于科技英语术语的音译至关重要。本文探讨了科技英语术语音译的汉字选择,认为在进行科技术语音译时,应按照术语源语发音规则,选用与术语源语语音形式最接近的汉字译音,同时兼顾字形和语义。具体可以从谐音借用、形象联想、偏旁部首、音义密合、声调音律五个方面来考虑音译名选字,以使译名与术语原文语音相似、语义相关,从而促进术语的传播。
Choice of appropriate Chinese characters is very important for transliterating technical terminology.The article discusses about the choice of Chinese characters in transliteration of technical terms and argues that Chinese characters closest to the phonetic forms of the source terminology should be chosen,taking into account their forms and semantics.Five aspects should be considered while choosing Chinese characters,namely,borrowing of homophony in pronunciation,image association,literal meaning,tonal pattern and radicals of Chinese characters.
