The first discrete organometallic tetranuclear
4-PO4 complex, [{(Cp*Cr)2(-OMe)2}2(4-PO4)]+ (5; Cp*= 
5-C5Me5), was isolated as the iodide and PF6 saltsfrom the reaction between NaH2PO4 and [Cp*Cr(-OMe)I]2 (2), which was derived from thiolate methylationof [Cp*Cr{3-HN(CH2CH2S)2}] (1) with MeI in MeOH.
