The use of catalytic amounts of [Ni(COD)₂] and aseries of bis-diphosphinoferrocene ligands allows the catalyticisomerization of 2-methyl-3-butenenitrile to the linear 3-pentenenitrile, via allyl intermediates that display hemilability.
