Synthesis and Characterization of Potential Single-Source Precursors to Group 13-Antimonides

The independent 1:1 reactions of Et3Ga and(Me3SiCH2)3In withSb(SiMe3)3 yield the simpleLewis acid-base adductsEt3Ga·Sb(SiMe3)3(1) and(Me3SiCH2)3In·Sb(SiMe3)3(2), respectively. Reaction of(Me3CCH2)2GaCl or(Me3SiCH2)2InCl withSb(SiMe3)3 in a 1:1 moleratioaffords the dehalosilylation products[(Me3CCH2)2GaSb(SiMe3)2]x(3) and[(Me3SiCH2)2InSb(SiMe3)2]2 (4),respectively. These new compounds were characterized bymultinuclearsolution NMR (1H and 13C), partial elementalanalysis, and, for 1, 2, and 4, singlecrystalX-ray analysis.
