Investigation on 316L/W functionally graded materials fabricated by mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering

316L/W FGMs are successfully fabricated via MA and SPS techniques.

Gray transitional belts that mainly contain Fe7W6, Fe3W3C and Fe2W phases formed.

The width of the belts increased from 2 to 8 um due to different milling parameters.

The maximum micro hardness of 690.31 HV is obtained for the 5 h-milled of 316L-50W layer.
