ScGpn1 C-terminal tail is dispensable for viability and RNAPII nuclear targeting. ScGpn1 C-tail controls cell size, mitosis exit, and ScGpn1 and Rtr1 nuclear export. gpn1ΔC cells are hypersensitive to microtubule disruption by benomyl. Microtubule integrity is lost at a sublethal benomyl concentration in gpn1ΔC cells. GPN1 interacts genetically with BIK1, the yeast orthologue of human CLIP-170.
