Successful application of Pd multitube membrane module for H2 production. H2 production of 6 lb/day with >98% purity and recovery of 64% was achieved. CFD model successfully described the physical phenomena occurring in this module. The module showed high stability for >800 h under coal-derived syngas. Discuss operation and scale up of membrane-based systems for H2 energy economy.
