Eight circadian clock genes were identified in the beetle Colaphellus bowringi. Sequences of these circadian clock genes were conserved across insect taxa. Six genes exhibited differential expression between high and non-photoperiodic diapause strains. This study reveals candidates related to photoperiodic induction of summer diapause.
