Females preferentially approach conspecific signals over heterospecific signals. The species-specific wave form alone is sufficient for species recognition. Species recognition is not clear when females are presented with more complex conspecific signals. Cues from wave form combined with claw colour, may further reduce female chances of mating with a heterospecific.
