For 4 weeks, the laying hens were fed with high dose (87.7 mg kg−1) of chromium. The inorganic Cr (III) was in form of soya meal enriched by biosorption. The Cr increased the number of CD4+, but not Bu1+ and CD8α+ cells in caecal tonsils. Ηigh dose of Cr additive stimulates the adaptive immune system in caecal tonsils.
