MoS2 and WS2 nanosheets were chemically exfoliated from their bulk materials in nitrate/HCl. The yield of MoS2 nanosheets reaches 58%. The MoS2 nanosheets showed improved catalytic activity toward the oxygen reduction. The MoS2 nanosheets exhibited excellent anticorrosion properties as a filler.
