A novel fluorescent probe system for rapid detection of CO was reported. This probe system is readily available and highly selective and sensitive for CO. This probe system shows distinct colorimetric and fluorescent turn-on responses for CO. This probe system can be used in a low dosage for fluorescent imaging of CO in living cells.
