Fabrication of hydrazine sensor based on silica-coated Fe2O3 magnetic nanoparticles prepared by a rapid microwave irradiation method

Silica coated Fe2O3 nanoparticles were prepared by a fast MW assisted method. Fe2O3 nanoparticles were uniformly coated with SiO2 by microwave irradiation. The smooth silica shell enhanced the dispersibility of the Fe2O3 nanoparticles. Fe2O3@SiO2 sensor showed good sensitivity and selectivity towards hydrazine.
