The real-time fouling characteristics of a typical heat exchanger are investigated.

Deposition and removal mechanisms are considered and fouling resistance is obtained.

A time ratio is proposed to enlarge the simulation time and results to the real time scale.

The effects of velocity and particle diameter on fouling resistance are investigated.

The comparison with experimental results is also conducted.
