We prepared CZTS thin films in a simple, low-cost, and environment-friendly manner. Highly pure films were prepared using a sol-gel method under mild conditions. X-ray diffraction showed that the CZTS had the kesterite structure. The calculated optical band gap energy of the films was 1.45 eV.
