Human impact on natural systems modeled through soil erosion in GeoWEPP: A comparison between pre-Hispanic periods and modern times in the Teotihuacan Valley (Central Mexico)
Soil erosion rate is estimated for three different periods of the last 2000 years based on a prediction model (WEPP). The effect of land use and precipitation on surface runoff and soil erosion rates is evaluated. Land use is the most important factor in soil erosion in all three periods in the Valley of Teotihuacan.
