H/V technique is used to characterize the metropolitan area of Málaga (South Spain). We correlate the main H/V peaks with the presence of basin basement materials. The secondary H/V peaks are related to Quaternary and Pliocene sedimentary fill. Shear wave velocity (Vs) profiles are inverted from the H/V ellipticity curves. Vs profiles, boreholes and geology are integrated in 2D cross-sections of the basin.
