During the last four decades, the research group led by Alessandro Santini, at the
Department of Agriculture, University
of Naples Federico II - Italy, has provided the scientific community with relevant contributions to various fields
of hydraulic engineering for agriculture, irrigation and drainage, and agricultural water management. The research activity being carried out by the various units
of this group involves the following major topics:
- -
modeling and monitoring water use for irrigation;
- -
soil hydrology;
- -
solute transport in soil and reusing marginal water in irrigation.
This paper summarizes some of the contributions of this research group and addresses their major impacts.
