The effects of binders on performance of magnesium batteries are firstly reported. The binders affect physical and electrochemical properties of Mo6S8 cathode. The binder stability is related to chemical structure and electrode uniformity. Mo6S8 electrodes with PAA and PVA exhibit enhanced electrochemical performance. Gelatin can be used as a binder of high voltage cathodes for magnesium batteries.
