Expression of HCELL enhanced MSC homing in injured kidney. Engagement of HCELL and E-selectin led to firm adhesion of MSCs to endothelial cells. MSCs with HCELL were mainly located in capsule and migrated inward between tubules. HCELL-positive MSCs mitigated kidney injury, partly through promoting polarization.
