Single-trial contextual fear conditioning induced a non-generalized recent and generalized remote fear memory. Memory reactivation 2 days after training strengthened the remote contextual memory and maintained its specificity. Corticosterone did not affect the specificity or duration of contextual memory in a single-trial training protocol.
