Thermalized solution of the Galerkin-truncated Burgers equation: From the birth of local structures to thermalization

Highly-organized local structures called as “tygers” generate at the occurrence of shock waves governed by inviscid Burgers equation when using pseudo-spectral method.

It is found that the generation of a “tyger” is related to period-doubling bifurcation.
