Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase (KMO) deficiency reduced mortality after EMCV infection. KMO−/− mice markedly increased the levels of serum kynurenine and kynurenic acid. The production of chemokines in KMO−/− mice was suppressed after EMCV infection.
