CIM and mCIM were useful to screen for carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae. mCIM with carbapenem-SMA combination was valuable for metallo-β-lactamase detection. The SMA-mCIM had 100% sensitivity and specificity to detect metallo-β-lactamase.
