A statistical method to estimate the frequency of periodic signals is proposed. The frequency of the signal is considered to be a random variable. Resampling techniques are used to estimate the mean value of this random variable. The method is independent of the distribution of the frequency of the signal. The frequency of the signal is estimated by using the bootstrap method.
