YSZ-NiCrBSi composite coatings were manufactured by APS for protection against cavitation. As sprayed composite coatings exhibit a denser microstructure. Cavitation damage is liable to happen at the edge of pores and splats interfaces. Low adhesion of NiCrBSi-YSZ interfaces can counteract the positive effect of the low porosity.
