Based on the mechanism of fault gases such as radon and mercury gases formed in faults, taking Foshan Xilingang active fault as an example, through surveying the content values of radon in near-fault carriers in the direction perpendicular to the strike of fault and at an equal distance on both sides of the fault, the authors got the radon gases content curve. The authors analyzed the characteristics of anomaly shape of the radon gases content curve and discussed the influences of fault gases carrier on the radon abnormal form. The authors propose some suggestions on the relevant work of geochemical fault gas measurement. These provide a useful reference for urban active faults surveying and evaluation.
